“Cats' Eyes”
A pencil drawing of
a lioness (Panthera leo), a leopard (Panthera pardus) and a cheetah
(Acinonyx jubatus). The eyes of each of these great African cats
reflect their individual lifestyles and places in the ecosystem.
The lioness’ yellow-orange eyes have an air of superiority
apt for the largest and most powerful cat on the continent.
The leopard is a solitary, illusive and strategic hunter whose
pale grey-green eyes burn deep into your soul.
The large chestnut eyes of a cheetah show an aloof but wary hunter
who has sacrificed strength and the ability to defend itself to
become the fastest mammal on earth.
